Valentine’s Day Trip: Nashville, Tennessee

Quick backstory: About four years ago, Jeff and I spontaneously decided to hop on a plane and spend Valentine’s Day in San Antonio: the city we celebrated our first year together. It was AWESOME! 😁 So we've kept this tradition going, trying new places every year, and we have yet to be disappointed!

For this year’s trip, we chose Nashville, TN for a fun day of exploring, eating, and of course, some romance! 🧀😊

One of the things we were most excited about was the “secret bar” Jeff heard about: The Patterson House. We enjoy finding speakeasies when we travel — and even though he’s decided to stop drinking for a year, he’s still a fan of finding them to check out with me! And we've seen some cool sh*t 😜

That being said, The Patterson House was our first stop. Although the line was a bit ridiculous, I will say that drinks and food were worth it!

My first drink there was Vincent’s Ruin (right). It's made with Bulleit bourbon, elderflower liqueur, lemon, and an absinthe rinse. 👌 As for Jeff... Jeff enjoyed some juice (left).

I'm a whiskey girl so I loved Vincent’s Ruin, but since we had limited time there I had to try something different next... (Can't remember the name, but see below).

Although it was strong (the way I like 'em!), I actually could have gone with another Vincent’s Ruin. It was THAT good.

We also like checking out the food at speakeasies (if it’s available), so we ordered some appetizers as well. The cheese burger sliders and tater tots were SO GOOD!

Guys, if you’re ever in Nashville, The Patterson House is a MUST! We loved it.

OK, so after pretty much day drinking and light eating, we headed out to explore more of the city. Nashville is beautiful, has a great music scene, and being tourists, it was great that everyone we met was so kind! So nice, in fact, that every time we attempted to take selfies, people offered to take the picture for us instead. Seriously, EVERY TIME.

As the night progressed, it got cold af. Being from Texas, we were not used to it dropping down to 9 degrees, so our exploring quickly turned to a search for warmth!

Eventually, we stumbled upon B.B. King's Blues Club and decided to have our Valentine’s Day dinner there — for shelter and of course, enjoy the live music. We stayed there the rest of our night, keeping in mind we had an early flight in the morning.

Nashville is among my fave cities now, even for the short trip that it was. Can’t wait to go back for a longer stay!

I love that we have made it a priority to celebrate Valentine’s Day somewhere new — even if our schedule only allows for just one day/night. It’s become one of my favorite “traditions” 😊 It’s really just great to share new, exciting moments with loved ones. Lmk if any one tries it!
