When I get asked about my makeup, many people are surprised that not everything I use is high-end stuff. In fact, most is not! So, I thought I'd share deets on what I get asked most/favorites from my daily makeup routine (in no specific order).
I will eventually do a makeup tutorial on HOW I use all these but until then ā enjoy!
My face started to get oily a couple years ago (mostly my T-zone) and it really effed up my makeup game. š One of the ways I combat this issue was trying out different primers. It took some time but once I got to this Laura Mercier Primer, I found it was by far the best for my face. So I've stuck to it!
Laura Mercier's Oil Free Foundation Primer is light weight, really controls my oily skin, smooths out my foundation application and has helped keep my makeup looking fresh for longer. It is a bit pricey, but it's worth it! You only really need to apply a drop, so the 1.7 fl. oz. bottle ($36) will last me FOREVER. Absolutely love it! š
2. NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder (+ New York Color Sun 'N' Bronze Bronzing Powder)
This one is a shocker! These NYC Bronzers are my affordable go-to's and when I use them, I tend to get asked about it. Lately I've just been using the NYC Color Wheel (which is matte) and some blush. But if I want more of a "glow," I use the bronzing powder (it shimmers, without being glittery).
If you're feeling bold, blend these two together! It's perfection! Seriously for just like $4.47, they're both great: blend well, long-lasting, and help create a perfect glow. šāļø
Y'all, my life CHANGED after I found this kit. Like many other women, I went through that (dreadful) thin brows phase. š But as soon as I grew those puppies out and found this treasure ā everything just came together!
Motives' brow kit comes with two powder shades and wax to help sculpt your brows. Since using, my eyebrows look fuller and more defined. Plus you really don't need a lot of product to have them looking naturally thicker. This brow kit has been my favorite for years, and although it's $32.95 ā it should last you all year. š #TreatYoSelf
People really think I have on fake lashes every time I use Cover Girl's LashBlast mascara. Personally, I'm not a fan of falsies so I love finding mascaras that give the look of it ā without all the work. I dabble with different mascaras, but this one has just always been my go-to for the look. And it's just $7.99! š
[Color: VERY BLACK 800]
Here's another that always gets everyone. I use this L'Oréal foundation you can get at any drugstore as a part of my everyday makeup routine. Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation is lightweight, buildable (without looking cakey) and has great coverage.
Gotta tell you I've tried a LOT of different foundations, including the raved about Fit Me® Matte + Poreless Foundation by Maybelline and L'Oréal's True Match liquid foundation ā which I used to swear by, until I tried this liquid gold! It's by far my favorite affordable foundation.
Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation can be found for $12.99 anywhere from CVS to Ulta. As for the 24-hour claim, I will say it does last me all day with barely any touch ups. š
