Explore Dallas | Bars & Breweries

Getting creative with my titles, eh?

So I have cut back on beer this year cuz I went a bit crazy last year…and, ya know, life is about balance. (And I was gaining weight lol)

This post is basically a list of my favorites I’ve explored while living in Dallas. But — I think I have good taste haha! Just check my other post on best Dallas cocktails 😌

Here we go:

OAK CLIFF BREWING — TAPROOM

Ended up here after an art gallery showing at Tyler Station. I had been wanting to check it out, and turns out it’s a part of the historic building! Anyway, at the showing, I bumped into an old friend that happened to be working, providing free drinks from Oak Cliff Brewing. (And btw: art show with free beer and wine? Doesn’t get better)

Long story short: we walked on over to check out the new digs afterwards, and a new love was found. 🍻 (With the beer and atmosphere, of course!)

Note: Totally not a biased opinion. Go see for yourself!

BRAINDEAD BREWING

So, I am not a fan of Deep Ellum really anymore, but if I wanna grab a craft beer while there — this is the spot. Plus they have food! BrainDead is just a laidback bar, with a good great selection of craft beer and friendly bartenders. They also have movie and game nights (boardgames on deck!), as well as live music from local DJs. You can’t lose… unless you suck at boardgames. Like me. Anyway, you’ll be drinking beer, you’ll be fine! 😊

Personally I like to go to BrainDead on weekdays, when NO ONE should be out there! (I kid, but seriously — it’s gotten too crowded out there y’all!) But Sundays are dope. Oh, and whenever the weather is nice! The patio is perfect to people-watch in Deep Ellum. 😁

Recommend: TRY THE QUESO. Seriously.💣

FOUR CORNERS BREWERY — TAPROOM

I’ve always enjoyed Four Corners beer, but after their Taproom’s Grand Opening (and more!), I became a true fan. Not only is this place Insta-friendly, it’s super chill and offers fun activities like Lotería Night (every other Wednesday at 7:30pm) and free brewery tours (Saturdays-Sundays)!

Yo, my first time taking my bestie here was for the reveal of their new creation: El Mas Chingon. THEY HAD A LIVE ROOSTER THERE. You know, just hanging out on someone’s shoulder, walking around. Oh, AND a DJ so needless to say: dope ass af [day-drinking] day. 😉

I would then go on to buy this beer at my home for weeks — nay…months! Hence why I had to stop and “balance” LOL.

PS: They also offer food!

CELESTIAL BEERWORKS — TAPROOM

I heard of this place when it opened, but did not get a chance to check out cuz I honestly… I just forgot. It wasn’t until a friend of mine who lives by me brought up that there was a new brewery RIGHT BY US, that I was like… we gotta go! So, now I’m a regular. Haha, kidding! But it is a really cool spot in the up-and-coming Medical District in Dallas.

The very IPA-driven menu is great, cuz… you know me (I ain’t no bitch). The first beer I tried was Lunar (8% ABV): it was hoppy yet citrusy 🍊🤔…like spiked orange juice… (lol) delicious! My friend isn’t a big IPA drinker, yet they got the TRIPLE IPA, Triple Stars (9.2% ABV), and they felt amazing…lol. So obviously loved it as well. (tried it — it’s goood) Celestial is a small venue with a patio, really relaxed vibe, and games and such available. They also host different events on certain nights! It’s my NEW favorite for sure. Check it out!

Fun Fact: Just as the names implies, the craft beers are named after astronomical figures ✨

That’s all for today. Lmk if y’all go and what ya’ll think below!
